  • Alright, now that you have cleaned the back of your fridge, what about the inside? Defrosting your refrigerators and freezers is a necessity. It’s a good idea to defrost it before Spring arrives and clean it thoroughly. How to defrost it the right way? First of all, unplug it as if you leave the power on you will just raise your electricity bill. Remove food and if it is still cold outside you can put it on the balcony for few hours while you are doing the procedure. Now leave the door open and get some towels and a bucket. Put the towels on the floor in front of the freezer so they can absorb the ice that will melt. You can put some on the shelves inside, too. If you are dealing with a lot of ice you can use a mop to keep the floor around the freezer dry. The fastest proven methods to defrost your freezer are the scraping and the blow dryer method. When the ice has melted wipe the inside of the freezer with distilled vinegar and sprinkle some baking soda to absorb any unpleasant odors.

  • Now is the perfect time to make your showerhead look brand new! It’s really simple – all you need is white distilled vinegar, a plastic bag and a rubber band. Pour some vinegar in the bag and secure it to the shower head using the rubber band so the vinegar covers it completely. Let it sit for about an hour. After that wipe your shower head with a wet cloth. By doing this you will also clean the mineral buildups in the little holes.
  • Speaking of the amazing cleaning properties of vinegar, clean your blinds with an odd sock dipped in vinegar. Mix the same amount of white distilled vinegar and warm water in a bowl and slip the sock on your hand – like a glove. Wipe the dust and grimes and rinse with clean water afterwards. It’s crucial to do that as during Spring you will open your windows to let some fresh air in more frequently but no dust from your blinds will go inside your house.
  • Don’t forget to put your blankets away. When Spring comes you will no longer use these heavy winter blankets. Before putting them away wash them so they are fresh and clean the next time you need them. The appropriate way to store them is to wrap them in cotton sheet as cotton will allow the air to flow through and no mildew and musty odors will occur.
